Unser begrenztes Musikgenießen ist ja nur das Sinnbild unseres gesamten Aufnehmens und Verarbeitens von unseren (irdischen) Erfahrungen. (Paul Hindemith)
New poems, Shop, also here Shop. I love the poetry of Paul Gerhardt. “Ich schaue den Himmel mit meinem Gesicht ... er heilt die tödlichen Schmerzen” — he, Bach and Luther are more than my models.
16th August 2011
Ouverture “To the Water", Bayreuth 2011
I am in Leipzig, in the Mendelssohnhouse, he lived and composed here between 1845-1847, and he died here 1847. But Leipzig is the city of Bach, I cried in the Thomaskirche, did not have the time to see much of the Bacharchiv in the Bach museum, the third Gewandhaus is pretty ugly, but I like the Augustusplatz with the Mendebrunnen between Opera and Gewandhaus.
14th August 2011
Ich am fascinated of Jean Paul (Fritz Richter), and Günter de Bruyn writes very amazing about him.
Bayreuth
13th August 2011
The six days Bayreuth with Tannhäuser, Tristan und Isolde, Meistersinger are over. Tannhäuser is next to Lohengrin and Meistersinger my favorite. I loved the hall and the orchestra, visited the museum of Liszt, Jean Paul, Freimaurer, Markgräfliche Opernhaus. The concert in the Cityhall was great.
die Schwingung im hohlen Holz,
hoch das Horn bis an das Nesseltuch,
im Ton der Oboe liege ich,
im tiefen Bauch der Resonanz,
doch die Glocke des Klangs die Klarinette:
ich bin sie, singe, lautstumm,
und streichend reitet das mächtige Wunder
verstummend zärtlich von allen Säulen
in meine Sinne.
Lisztflügel, Rokoko-Hall Bayreuth.
10th August 2011
I am now in Bayreuth, swam in the Lohengrin Therme, practiced with the trio in the Steingräber Piano House, then six hours Tristan und Isolde in the Festspielhaus. Next week Leipzig.
Festspielhaus Bayreuth, Tristan und Isolde, 10th August 2011
5th August 2011
The concert was great, it was recorded, pictures were shown with the beamer, I played Bach, Chopin and Beethoven and also own compositions and improvisations, sang at the end my songs, and “In allen Stürmen” with Edwin Wiegele together in a duet. Today is my last day here, we are going to visit Burg Hochosterwitz, Herzogstuhl, Marienkirche of Maria Saal, the Wörther Lake, then I am travelling to Cologne, then Bayreuth where I'm going to play Brahms Horntrio on the concert for the scholarship holders.
3rd August 2011
Art in Kärnten ... it is very sunny, I am working in the studio, but mostly outside, it's hot, Photomontage, Decollage, Frottage, Passepartout — the easel und brushes are in the gras, it is a big mansion, belonging zu the Heunburg, a castle ruin in Haimburg, where theater now is performed every summernight. I have now almost 30 paintings.
1st August 2011
I am now in Kärnten, Austria, close to Klagenfurt. The Studio and Gallery are huge, I paint with Acryl, Ink, Tempera and Crayon as much as I want. Mostly I paint on the meadow in front of the studio. I see the full wide clouds and mountains, I feel the heavy August and how the nature bows and bends to autumn. I created a Collage, a Decollage, learned a lot from Edwin, we drank “Spritzer” in Völkermarkt and ate “Kärntner Nudel", what I did not like that much. It reminded me of the Pilmeni in Moscow which was so much more tasty. On Thursday is my concert, it will be recorded.
26th July 2011
Concerts in Würzburg, Bayreuth, Klagenfurt and Hannover ...
21st July 2011
On my last day in Moscow we visited the Dvorets Kolomenskoe and ate Wareniki (Pilmeni with potatos instead of meat). Then I took he Aeroexpress to the airport Domodedovo. It was a sunny flight home.
Peterhof St Petersburg, Baltic Sea
18th July 2011
After a long trip with the night train Lena and I arrived from Moscow in Saint Petersburg, the young island-city. After more than two weeks I cannot help to compare this beautiful european city St Petersburg automatically with Moscow, the very russian capital. It is kind of similar, but also very different. The first thing I recognized was, that the climate is different because of the Baltic Sea. We ate breakfast, slept a little bit and then visited the warship Aurora, then the Peter and Paul Fortress with the Trubetskoy Bastion Prison and other interesting exhibitions and the beautiful beach, before we did a great boattrip on the Neva, a very deep and bright river with canals like in Venice. I'm looking forward to the Isaac Cathedrale and the Hermitage!
Well, we did a 5 hour-walk yesterday night with Anton, it was a little bit unintentional, cause we forgot that the bridges fold up at one until six in the morning. We walked along the university bank at the big Neva, saw the academy of the arts, the Kasankiy Cathedrale and the incredible Redeemer-Cathedrale, the town canals were full of boats, fire eater danced on the places, everywhere were horses, carriages and music, which made me cry, we did a second boattrip with a very fast boat on the river at the barb of the island, very fast to the Aurora ship and back. It was like a white night, cause even ad midnight it was light. Then we had to do a third boattrip cause we could not get to the other side to our car and flat: The bridges were lifted for the bigger boats! Our little boat crossed the way of one of the huge ships going through the uppfolded bridges. It was strange so see that the asphalt was folded up in the air.
The Hermitage is closed on Mondays unfortunately. But I saw the Russian State Museum with modern and russian art and furniture, the Michail-Castle, the amazing Peter Courtyard (Peterhof) close to the Baltic Sea, the Redeamer-Church and the Isaac-Cathedrale from the inside and from the top. Tomorrow, the train brings Lena and me back to Moscow, and the day after I fly home with Lufthansa, back to Germany after 3 weeks Russia. I adore Saint Petersburg. I am looking forward to next year there. But the ballet costs here 5 times as much as in Moscow. But in St Pete can you rent an apartment pretty cheap, much cheaper than in Moscow. But the income is way lower. Moscow and St Petersburg seem to be two worlds.
16th July 2011
Yesterday we visited the Glinka Museum Moscow (russian composer from 1804). In this concert hall I will play a concert at the Steinway grandpiano (Bach Goldberg Variations) in February 2012. There are some valuable Bechstein grandpianos from 1874, a golden one with angels as legs and different composer from ivory on the piano lid. I played all old grandpianos, what is normally forbidden. We had also a special guide who made us coffee and gave me presents, precious books from the museum. Even the pianos are old and out of order, the sound is full and beautiful. No comparison with the modern Yamaha grandpianos. I saw all kinds of instruments, green harps, precious violins, huge balalaikas, old organs from the past centuries.
I am used to the russian keyboard now, I even apply it to my Apple Book when I use it (what I not often do here in Russia, because I forgot my cable at home).
In the international 35mm-movietheatre I saw the skandinavian movie Melancholia with music from Wagner (Tristan and Isolde, what I will see live in Bayreuth in a few weeks), very fascinating.
Tonight I am going to St Petersburg, the nighttrain arrives at 6 am. I get picked up. It is the most northwards million-city, 5 million people, at the Baltic Sea. Time difference again one hour? Yesterday the moon moved around the Basilius Cathedrale on the Red Square and reminded me of the planet Melancholia from the movie I just saw in the theatre (Melancholia).

Concert American Center Moskau
Concert American Center Moskau, Bolshoi Concert Hall
Statue in front of the Krasnaya Ploshad (Red Square)
The concert was great, there were many people from the american embassy, I sold many CDs, no one left for the concert in St Pete, people like the compound and blend of classical music and improvisation. It was an old, huge, german grandpiano, red velvet seats in the hall. I got many flowers. We ate before the concert in Moscow City in the middle of the skyscraper in a small georgian restaurant called Hachapuri, next to the Ukrainian Boulvevard, tried Harecho, very spicy, with Lavasch, we drank Airan with herbs and mixed with Soda.

13th July 2011
Today I've got a huge gift, I saw the ballet Swanlake at the Bolshoi Theatre with the young Moscow Ballet, it was the most beautiful Swanlake I have ever seen so far, more beautiful than the Moscow Ballet in Germany, and it was with orchestra.
Before that we were on a market where I bought a handpainted pink unique Matroeskija (Matoschka) with 5 pieces in it from the artist, an old woman; the market was next to a Kreml out of wood. In the GUM at the Red Square I bought a redwhite dress for the ballet at Zara. Tomorrow is my concert. It is nice to live so close to the Tschaikovski conservatoire and to walk by every day. I can greet the Tschaikovski statue in front of the conservatoire every evening.
Bolshoi Concert Hall American Center Moscow
12th July 2011
This time we visited the Victory Park with a great few over Moscow City, and after that the Modern Part of the Trejakow Gallery, Contemporary Art, Krymski Wall across Gorky-Park. There were oilpaintings of Kandinsky, Robert Falk and Chagall, and also movies about the time where Russia was in war. Everything was so interesting that the guides had to send us out at 7 pm when they closed. We walked back, following the Moscowa, walked through the “Red Oktober” with restaurants und fancy clubs, skyscraper besides orthdox churches with golden domes.
In the evening I was for the first time at a couchserving meeting with russian friends in a restaurant. There were people from the whole world, Sweden, Spain, Ukraine, France, Iraq ... I ate Shi, a soup with potatoes, onions and vegeatables, and drank russian soda, Tarhun and Dushes, and Cranberry vodka. Later we walked through the beautiful summernight along the Red Square, many people flied a kite, everything seemed so rich and peacefull, european and free, but I know it is only an illusion. Today I heard that there are more women than men in Moscow, 2 million women more in Moscow than men, that is the reason I guess that there are so many beautiful women with strange boyfriends, and that the women walk always with highheels, even in the supermarket and through parks, because they try so hard to find someone, especially an european husband to get away from the hard life in Russia. The russian men are not so beautiful than the women. I am now 12 days in Moscow, I feel almost like home, even I am homesick. I got used to everything here. I am sunburnt, got a little cold from the icy drinks in hot weather. I want to play concerts in the wintertime in Russia.
Kreml 2011. Biggest bell of the world, 200 tons.
The broken piece over 11 tons.
10th July 2011
Kreml, Kolomenskoe, Cat —
as a group from the international Seliger 2011 we visited Kreml from the inside, there is the biggest canon of the world, the biggest and heaviest bell of the world, she has been never in use, even her sound (made out of gold, silver and copper) must be very deep, full and powerful, 200 tons, a tsarbell so heavy that she stands on the ground in front of the belltower. All buildings inside and outside of Kreml are from different centuries and still fit together in a specific unity what make Moscow so special.
Then we ate russian food, Pilmeni, what reminded me of Ravioli, with Sourcreme, then Shashlik, Lamb, Pirozhki (that is bread filled with meat, onions or mushrooms), we drank Mors (out of plum), Mohito (Lime with mint) and Kvas, a healthy breaddrink. There was also Kiev Kotelett, we tried a bit Vodka to it. Irina comes from Westsibiria, from Tyumen. Sie knows Hodorkovskiy in person. In Seoul you drink Soju more than Vodka, it has only 20 % alcohol, not 40 %.
From the boat on the Moscowa we saw the Kreml, Peter, Gorky-Park (russian Tivoli), Christ-Church, Basilius-Cathedrale and the skyline of Moscow in the best view.
Then we visited the Kolomenskoe-Castle and the VDNH-Park with huge golden fountains, exhibitions and roller coaster like a russian strange Kiliani, also statues from Karelia, Armenia, Belarus. There is a black market in front of the VDNH, besides clothes, food and art there are also animals to be sold, and I fell in love with a cute white little cat, 8 weeks old, but I could not take it with me in the plane even I was thinking about how to smuggle that cat under my dress. When we walked away we saw suddenly the police coming, and all the sales people ran away. Everywhere you see the statue of Lenin, but also some of russian writers, for example Griboedov in the Chistoprudnij Boulevard, a longish Park like so many in the huge Moscow. We sat down on a bench and watched the people, I can do that forever, in such a big million-city people are so interesting. It is fascinating because everyone does what he wants, no one judges the other one from the style of clothes or behaviour. There is no norm.
Kreml July 2011. Russian Elite
8th July 2011
The Pushkin Museum had a special attraction, the famous Dior-exhibition: Beautiful dresses, coates and shoes from satin, tulle, silver, gold and real blue stones in an extravagant style, jewelry, pictures, movies and art. The old museum with european art, from the outside in a neoclassical look with white pillars, has four buildings, one for the impressionists, but you need days for all of that.
Red Square, Red Dress
We passed the Department for Foreign Affairs several times, it looks as well like a huge white sugar cake, like the Moscow State University and 6 other big buildings (hotels and apartment buildings). No signs and explainations, but police and guards on every corner, top secret? Food, rent and clothes are very expensive in Moscow and do not fit to the normal income of the people. Most people in Moscow don't seem to know what is going on, but they do not ask questions, and so are many of them a bit aggressive and corrupt.
Today we took the first time the trolly-bus, full streets. One time there was no move for 45 minutes because a foreign truck forgot to refuel. The police don't care. In Moscow you have to walk a lot, many km a day, and also very long from one metrostation to the other. We walked through the Presnenskij Park and the Mueseon Park (Sculpture Park) und visited the international 35 mm-movietheater. Today we slept in Downtown Moscow in a small hotel on the old Arbat because I have to register here in Russia. I miss Olga's cats, but here is also a little piano, and the people here like when I practice. I see a lot of dogs without a home, it really make me sad, because those dogs are so smart and nice.
A Lady in front of the Kreml
The russian cars, Lada, Volga, Vaz, Zaporojez ... they really make atmosphere on the downtown streets in Moscow.
Alexandergarden Kreml 2011
6th July 2011
We bought today the tickets to St Petersburg in one of the many stations in Moscow. No one understand English, but Lena is fortunately russian. People behind the counter worked really slow. We will stay 3 nights in St Pete, a Swede, a Russian, a German. Exactly one year ago I have played concerts in Manila.
In the morning we visited the Tretyakovskaya Gallery (Tretyakov loved art), a museum only with russian art. I liked the original portrait of Tschaikowsky, that I've seen so many times in books. It is not easy to pretend to be russian (the entrance is cheaper), because they mostly have this gloomy, non-smiling face, and mine is full of questions and sometimes irritated.
After a while we walked through the Gorkij Park, enjoyed the lake, went over the Krymskij Bridge, saw the statue of Peter, the golden towers of the cathedrales, the Moscowa. The weather and sun were beautiful. The river was wide, also sky and clouds. We walked back over the Frunsenskij Bridge to the Ysadba Trubezkih Park, to the Youthhouse of Moscow and to the russian-german house. From the bridge we recognised at the other side the Novodevichi Monastery. I like the parks of Moscow. Finally we ate in My-My.
Basilius Cathedrale Krasnaya Ploshad
In the evening I played my first concert at the International Library. It was a beautiful hall with heavy green curtains, red seats and a black big Bechstein grandpiano, welltuned and in a good shape. 300 people came, I talked a little bit in german, Olga translated. I played an improvisation about Moscow, I felt that was the best part of the concert, but the audience also loved Beethoven. I sold many CDs, but the Rubel for CDs is not Euro. The next concert will be on the 14th in the American Center. We celebrated a little bit in a club called Propaganda close to the Red Square with many artists in there (supposed to be). Even I still cannot read the russian letters, I enjoy the Metro with their special, golden stations.
I can feel that many young people have a hard life here, it is not romantic or something what I thought ("Moscow in the snow with lights") — too many really would love to leave and go to Europe.

4th July 2011
Yesterday we visited the Tschaikowsky Conservatoire and a student concert (piano), everyone practiced with full heart out of the windows, the famous Tschaikovsky Competition just had finished, my father has played here so many years ago. The Moscow State University MGU is a huge, white building, we saw the sparrow hills, the Arbat, walked along the Mockba-Peka (Moskwa River), ate Borscht, walked thu the Tsaritsyno Park, then there were dancing in the Alexandrovsky Sad, before they brought me home, I live close to the Timiryazevskaya Metro Station. My name in russian is AHH-XEЛEHA. I am still tired because of the two hour-shifting.
Moscow July 2011
2th July 2011
The first building I saw was the famous Bol'shoi Theatre. The Metro is so loud, I can't believe to go with it many hours a day every day for years. It is also crowded and hot, you have to stand and cannot talk. We saw the Mausuleum of Lenin, the Basilius Cathedrale, the Historic Museum (a red big cake, and all explainations only in russian), ate in the Bosco Cafe to the feet of the Red Square, one coffee is more than 12 Euro, and then: Follow the Moskwa down to Gorky Park ...

1th July 2011
It is very hot, huge and different here in Moscow, 12 million people, all supermarkets and shops are open the whole night, reminds me of Arizona, reminds me also of Poland, but so much bigger, I like the cats of Olga, have her piano called Hupfeld, I can practice. in Germany it is pretty cold right now.
29th June 2011
In 2 days I'm flying to Moscow and St Petersburg: American Center Moskau. Lufthansa-Plane at the 1st July, flying 3 hours, before that ICE to Frankfurt. 2 hours time difference. I might have jetlag, I have a clock inside.

22nd June 2011
As someone who is a woman with a vision, there is a special point and way of leading, I guess, cause I create something for people later, maybe for a different world later, it is hidden sometimes, sometimes isolated in this timeperiod. I have to wait, to trust and to pray. U&D Festival Würzburg

20th June 2011
Yesterday concerts in Aachen, today Cologne, everyone like something else, one is humming Beethoven Waldstein, the other ones are touched by the songs, the next one wants to have the improvisation again. We ate afterwards in “Roncalli/Stairs” and recorded a movie in Vaals at the point of the three countries: Belgium, Holland, Germany, so close to each other, the flaggs touching each other ... that touches me. There are only a few days to my tour in Russia.
I'm learning much through the bandrehearsals for the festival U&D Würzburg, it is a lot of fun. It is a way different kind of practicing to what I am used to.
Bandfestival
6th June 2011
“Kirchentag” (Churchday) Dresden, I played every day several concerts, cause I also had to play songs during shows, 3 long and interesting days. But the topic: There, where your heart is, there is your treasure — that seemed to be missed lots of time during the festival, it was very political and creative, but I was waiting for something, for the mainpoint.
30th May 2011
I graduated (Magister), and won the first price in the International Visual Arts Competition Grafimuse Brussels 2011.
I am still thinking about where to do a doctorate, in Berlin, Lund, Cologne. But I also think about studying art or composition.
23th May 2011
I'm not home again from Scotland, it was stormy on the ferry from Cowal to the mainland, Gourock, the waves hit our car and the busses next to us. Some people became seasick. I miss the rainbows over Loch Long, Holy Loch, den lighthouses under red sky, the big dark stones at the beaches, the great scotish food, the Whiskey's, the mystic River Clyde, the get together in Sandbank, Argyll. But Edinburgh was one of the climaxes. The real highlands I did not see, there was no time. The concerts were good yesterday. It was my first time in Scotland. It is really quiet different from England.
1st May 2011
It was nice to dander in Salzburg again at nighttime, to see all the showplaces and landmarks, bathed in light. I played on the women-conference of xpand Salzburg, there was a speaker from New Zealand.
10th April 2011
The xpand Conference, the touch of leadership and art, what sometimes seems to contradict themselves, showed me many key questions, key issues. I feel like coated with those thoughts, with rooms of answers. I am looking forward for the meeting with Elke Werner and playing music in Marburg.
16th March 2011
I'm horseback riding since October, sometimes I'm still afraid, I fell down two times ‘til now. The big mass-stall is not good for me, I enjoy to be with Royk and Magga on the meadows at the river, in the woods, on the ways outside. I love Royk's soft nostrils, his brown friendly eyes, the lessons on the paddock.

1st February 2011
I'm looking forward visiting Sweden once a year at least, next time Göteborg and Umeå, and of course my relatives in Jonköping. I hope that I can study like my relatives in the last century in Lund for my doctorpaper.
29th January 2011
Yesterday Mentoring in Bamberg (Biburg) with Peter Essler, it was great, a discussion about art, provision of services, how that fits together, and how I sometimes juggle with so many talents. In April I'm playing on the xpand conference in Schwäbisch Gemünd again. Yesterday were the photo-session with Marco and Senta at the Musikhochschule Würzburg. After that this snapshot:

When music which I compose, write, know and feel, suddenly slop to a new and different dimension, cause a rocksinger sings it, a loud and groovy band plays it, as if my songs would only be born for that, then my heart is trembling, all the old traditions and habits are fading away. New worlds open up. I am full of curiosity for new music.

I am not so serious when I play with band, I am smiling cause it is fun and I'm content. But the switch from classical music and own songs to improvisations and talking to the audience is new and a little exhausting for me.

It's still snowing, what is nice. I'm looking forward to the bandrehearsals for the 4 songs on the 6th in the club Omnibus. It is new for me with my new band and my songs. I am searching for a skincolored, small and good mic around my ears, cause I'm still jolting surprised against the big micro in front of me with the nose while I'm playing the piano with singing. I am not used to it. Soon is also Nordhelle (close to Cologne), the meeting for musicians.
